About Amstelpark

Amstelpark has a rich history as a tennis school with an impressive amount of big name tennis graduates. In 1986, The Amstelpark Tennis School was started by Jan de Ruijter, Duncan de Mooij, Hans Puijker en René Moos at the Gustav Mahlerlaan in Amsterdam. Ten years later, the tennis school moved to its current location at the edge of the Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam Forest). The facilities now form the perfect combination of physical exercise and relaxation possibilities.

With the addition of professional tennis trainers and physical therapists, Amstelpark became the first professional tennis academy in the country. Many (inter)national top tennis players followed the professional programs at Amstelpark to kick start their careers. Players such as Dennis van Scheppingen, Miriam Oremans, Stephanie Rottier, Martin Verkerk and current pros like Thomas Schoorel and Igor Sijsling. The Belgian top women’s player Sabine Appelmans also came to Amsterdam for her professional tennis education.
